Quick Facts

 

The 2023 Bloody Mary Open is an 18-hole 9AM shotgun event played on Saturday, April 22nd, 2023. Bloody Mary’s before play followed by Hors d’oeuvres and awards reception at the conclusion of play. 

 

Conditions of the Competition

 

Eligibility

4 person teams consisting of current Wintergreen members and/or Guests with a current World handicap index. The team handicap has been derived from taking 25% of Player A, 20% of Player B, 15% of Player C, and 10% of Player D (This is the recommended team handicapping format for a 4-person captain’s choice.).  The team handicap will be subtracted upon the completion of play. The tournament committee will use all handicap indexes as of April 19th.

 

Format

All teams will be competing in a Captain’s Choice format at Stoney Creek Golf Course.     

 

Flights

Monocan Flight (May consist of 4 men or 3 men and 1 woman)

Shamokin Flight (May consist of 2 men and two women or 1 man and three women)

Tuckahoe Flight (Must consist of 4 women)

 

Tees of Play

Men – 59 and Under – White Tees

Men – 60 and Older – Gold Tees

Women 59 and Under – Red Tees

Women 60 and Older – Green Tees

 

Tie Breaker

In the event of a tie, a scorecard playoff will be used to determine the winner. An acceptable method of matching cards is to determine the winner on the basis of the best score for the last nine holes. If the tying players have the same score for the last nine, determine the winner on the basis of the last six holes, last three holes and finally the 18th hole.

 

Prizes

Prizes awarded for top teams in the net divisions as well as one overall gross winner.

 

Tournament Fees

$70 per player plus appropriate golf fees based on membership or guest status.
